It is Wednesday and I am sitting in Gecko Expresso freezing my ass off! It could be because of the smoothie or the door being open and letting in the cold breezes of winter. Either way I am shivering and wishing that I had brought a jacket. The current anthem playing is Spice Girls, and I feel like I'm at least shivering to the beat. :-)
So I'm going to break down the weekend day by day, because each day was a very different experience.
Saturday was probably the hardest day that I've had to deal with thus far. I was training at the Mud Stage with, the Wyld Men and Three Guys and a Bunch of Drums. The shows were very cute and the only thing that kept me from wanting to jump into the mud pits were the freezing temperatures and 58 mph winds. It started off just very windy then progressed into a full out monsoon. I made the best out of the situation by finding a 15 pound rock and dragging it around faire calling it my "Pet Rock Harry". People loved it and I will now be continuing the bit in the remaining weekends. After I just couldn't be in the rain anymore I ended up hiding out in the Fairhaven Stage. Luckily all of the stage crew and managers are very cool and we can always laugh and joke about everything. Together we hawked non-existant shows in the pouring rain. :-)
Sunday was definately an improvement. The day started out cloudy, cold and muddy, but tolerable. I was the Stage Manager for the Mud Stage since he had gotten sick the day prior. It was about noon or one when it started pouring again. I lost all feeling in my feet and hands and hid with my fellow stage crew member under the bar and talked with the poeple who ran the drink stand and the man who ran the Wyld Men store. The Wyld Men seeing how cold I was throughout the day actually brought me a wool poncho to wear, hot soup to eat, hot tea to drink and finally a wool blanket to wrap around myself. They literally saved me from getting sick that day and I am eternally greatful to them for it.
Finally there was Monday, the two for one coupon day. It was insane!!! We had bigger crowds than opening weekend , which is saying something. This was my day to dawn the Miguel costume from the popular cartoon on PBS, "Maya and Miguel". Needless to say that when you put me in a performance position I automatically become more crazy, but the costume also made me anonymous..... hehehe. This usually means trouble. ;-) So I spent the first half of the day running around in a giant head hugging, waving and running after people. I may have hijacked some games, done acrobatics, and shook some junk as well.. So after bring a bobble head for most of the day, I helped around on random stages until the end of the day drum jam started. I did some dancing then headed to juggling and worked on my juggling skills with Gypsy Geoff, Madison and Melissa. I then got one step closer to my final goal and did a shoulder stand with Jimmy from Barely Balanced and practiced some backbends with Marge, their new small.
It is supposed to rain this weekend. So hopefully it will still be a super awesomesauce weekend.
Riki just walked in, he is clearly stalking me.... Damn! This always happens to me with men.
